How much training do you need to do for this ride? How fit do you have to be before you start? I guess the answer is as much as you can and as fit as you can get? Not least because of the 2013/14 winter deluge we didnt really start in earnest until the turn of the year, my first weight loss and training regime started on the 6th January, giving about 5 months of training.

 

That said I was relatively fit at the end of last summer, so was John and Chris so it's a bit of stab in the dark really, a large precentage of this challenge is all in the head so if you have stamina and good endurance and relatively good fitness, thats probably good enough. 

 

The picture opposite is John [29 March 14] having just climbed Box Hill on his way to his first ever 100 miler which we both completed ok, bit tired but isnt everyone. 

 

Along the bottom of the page are some links which describe the approach we took to our training and preparation for the ride. Of course i'll update them as we go along and look out for the real story when I edit them after we have finished!!
